ABOUT THIS POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains how Southside Streetwear (ABN 57 688 920 461) ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit southsidestreetwear.com (the "Site"), make a purchase, sign up to our emails or texts, or contact us.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. "Personal information" means information that identifies you or could reasonably identify you.

1. WHAT WE COLLECT

Information you give us:

  • Order details: name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number, and what you bought.
  • Account details: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
  • Marketing sign-ups: your email address and/or mobile number if you join our email or SMS list.
  • Reviews: your name, rating, review and any photos you choose to upload.
  • Customer support: any information you include when you contact us (for example by email, social media or chat).

Information collected automatically:

  • Device and usage information: browser type, IP address, approximate location, time zone, pages and products viewed, search terms, and how you interact with the Site. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies.

Payment information:

We do not see or store your full card number. Payments are processed securely by our payment providers, who may give us limited details such as the card type and the last four digits.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your personal information to:

  • process, ship and deliver your orders, and send order and shipping updates;
  • handle returns, exchanges, store credit and warranty or faulty-item claims;
  • respond to your questions and provide customer support;
  • send you marketing emails or texts about new drops, offers and promotions, if you've signed up;
  • show reviews on our Site;
  • prevent and detect fraud, and keep the Site secure;
  • understand how people use our Site so we can improve it; and
  • meet our legal obligations, including tax and record-keeping.

3. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our store, and only as much as they need. These include:

  • Shopify: hosts our online store and processes orders (shopify.com/legal/privacy).
  • Payment providers: such as Shopify Payments, PayPal, Afterpay or other options shown at checkout, to process your payment.
  • Shipping carriers: such as Australia Post or other couriers, to deliver your order.
  • Klaviyo: sends our emails and text messages.
  • Loox: collects and displays product reviews.
  • Cart, analytics and advertising tools: apps that run our cart and help us understand Site traffic and show relevant ads (for example Google, Meta or TikTok), where you've allowed these cookies.

We may also share personal information if required by law, to respond to a lawful request from authorities, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

4. OVERSEAS STORAGE

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada, Ireland and other countries. We use well-known providers that have their own privacy and security protections in place.

5. MARKETING AND HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE

We only send marketing emails or texts if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time by:

  • clicking "unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email; or
  • replying STOP to any text message.

Even if you unsubscribe from marketing, we'll still send messages about your orders (like confirmations and shipping updates).

6. COOKIES

Cookies are small files saved on your device when you visit our Site. We use them to keep items in your cart, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and show relevant ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the Site (like the cart and checkout) may not work properly without them.

Because there is no consistent industry standard for "Do Not Track" signals, we do not change our practices when we detect one.

7. FRAUD PREVENTION AND AUTOMATED DECISIONS

We do not make decisions about you using fully automated processes that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you. Shopify uses limited automated tools to help prevent fraud, such as temporarily blocking IP addresses or cards linked to repeated failed or suspicious transactions. These blocks are short term.

8. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

We keep order and transaction records for as long as required by law (generally at least 5 years for tax purposes). Other information, such as marketing preferences, is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we no longer need it. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

9. KEEPING IT SAFE

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Our store runs on Shopify's secure platform, and all checkout and payment information is encrypted. No system is completely secure, but if a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by law.

10. ACCESSING AND CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (unless we need to keep it by law, for example tax records). Just email info@southsidestreetwear.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you may have extra rights under your local laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA), including the right to receive a copy of your data or to object to certain uses. Contact us at the same email to use these rights.

11. COMPLAINTS

If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please email us first at info@southsidestreetwear.com and we'll do our best to fix it. If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our business, the apps we use, or the law. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
